19-year-old survives stabbing in Bethel

Bethel police are investigating a stabbing today that left a teenager in serious condition. An emergency call came into the police at 12:32 a.m. from the BNC apartment buildings. The caller said a male was on the ground bleeding.

When police arrived they saw a male lying on the ground bleeding from his mouth and abdomen area. Police have not released his name but say he is 19-years-old. He was unresponsive and appeared to have multiple stab wounds.

Ambulance crews with the fire department transported him to the hospital in Bethel. He was later flown to the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage where he is listed in stable but serious condition.

The Anchorage Police Department is assisting the Bethel police in the investigation.
