A thank you and a farewell

by Mike Martz on July 8, 2011

Despite the chill air and cloudy conditions, the July 4th celebration at Pinky’s Park seemed to be well attended.  Once again, we gave out  a lot of free balloons at our booth at the fairgrounds.  I want to thank our staff who inflated and distributed the balloons and also thank everyone who stopped by for a balloon or just to say hello.

I also want to say farewell and good luck to Big Mike Chung who will be leaving us for a move south to Seattle.  Mike has worked in the radio department as an on air host/announcer and production director for close to a year.  He’s soon to be married and moving into another phase of his life.  We wish him well.  His smooth and soothing radio voice will be missed over the 640 AM and 90.3 FM airwaves.

I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer no matter what the weather.  Remember to wear a personal floatation devise whenever you go boating.

Thanks for supporting KYUK, public media for the Yukon/Kuskokwim Delta.
