Based on a tip, the Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics team in Bethel stopped a man from traveling to Toksook Bay. He was met at the Bethel airport July 16.
The Troopers seized his backpack and luggage and found fifteen (15) bottles of alcohol inside, which has a street value of $2,250-dollars. Also inside, were 15-point 2 grams of marijuana, worth $750-dollars on the street.
The man has not been identified as charges are pending. WAANT says they’ve sent a case report to the District Attorney’s office.
Toksook Bay is a local option community that voted to ban the sale and importation of alcohol.
