An Atmautluak man is facing felony assault charges after allegedly threatening people with a gun and firing a shot. Troopers say 19-year-old Jesse Pavilla was highly intoxicated the evening of November 11th. A tribal police officer responded to a report of a disturbance and met Pavilla, who threatened to stab her with a screwdriver, outside the home, according to court documents

The TPO called for backup. When the three TPOs finally entered the home, Pavilla was loading a rifle and then pointed it at them. After a struggle, he allegedly fired one shot, narrowing missing a person’s leg.

Pavilla was arrested and is facing three class C felonies for causing fear of injury with a weapon, plus a charge for weapons misconduct. He is held on 15 thousand dollar bail.
