Fourteen of the sixteen K300 racers made it to the Kalskag checkpoint within one hour of each other. Almost all of them are taking their 6-hour mandatory rest there, some 90 miles into the race.

Ray Nose, 34, of Akiachak was the first musher to cross the finish line in this year’s Akiak Dash. Nose made the 65-mile trek from Bethel to Akiak and back in 5:18:50. The race is ongoing as of now, and the results are as follows:
