AVCP Salmon Convention to air March 6 & 7

Delegates from the Association of Village Council Presidents will meet this week for a special convention aimed at addressing declining runs of chinook, or king, salmon.

The State of Our Salmon Convention will run Tuesday March 6 through Thursday March 8 at the Yupiit Piciryarait Cultural Center in Bethel.

Tuesday, 3.6

9:35 AM – Noon: Shared experiences from salmon users along the Yukon River, Kuskokwim River and Bering Sea.
2:15 PM  – 4:00 PM:  Federal and State area management reports.
   
Wednesday, 3.7
10am- Noon: Meaningful tribal involvement in salmon management – Policy Issues, and models for change.
