AVEC interested in buying out BUC

Bethel’s lone electric utility, Bethel Utilities Corporation, has been in talks for a potential sale for years. It was thought that TDX Power out of Sand Point would be the buyer, but recently another player has come into the fray: Alaska Village Electric Cooperative. In fact, AVEC’s CEO says the two sides may be closing in on official talks.
