Baby Girl Born To Bethel Mother in Coma

by Ben Matheson on July 11, 2014

A baby girl was born Tuesday to a Bethel woman in Anchorage who is in a coma and is clinically braindead. The baby, Faith, will be moving to Bethel to be raised by the mother’s family.

KTVA reports Jessie Ayagalria, the baby’s mother, has been in a coma since suffering a stroke and cardiac arrest in January. Urged by the family, doctors put the mother on a feeding tube and she carried the baby to 35 weeks until she was delivered by C-section. The mother will be taken off the feeding tube allowed to pass.

A fundraising page has been set up.
