Bethel City Council Looks to Hire a City Manager

by Ben Matheson on May 21, 2014

The Bethel City Council is beginning the process of finding a city manager after firing Lee Foley last week. The city advertised over the weekend for an interim City Manager with a deadline for applicants listed as Tuesday of this week. A meeting Wednesday at 6:30 includes a review of those candidates. Port Director Pete Williams has been serving as acting city manager.

The council will also figure out a strategy for finding a permanent city manager and consider hiring a third party firm for recruiting. They will look at salary ranges and possibly direct the city attorney to begin to draft a contract.

The council will finish by going into executive session about the recent investigation of administrative and personnel matters.
