Screen Shot 2014-07-01 at 12.20.40 PMThe Bethel City Council this evening can advance the hiring process for a new city manager and establish a committee to narrow the pool of 16 applicants and begin interviews soon.

A timeline from Interim City Manager Greg Moyer could bring the permanent city manager to work by September 6th and provide overlap with his time in the city.

The new pool is scheduled to open in a few months. The council can advance a contract for the company who will actually run the facility and programs. The company has not been named yet.

The council can also continue work on revamping water and sewer rates. The council in a special meeting last week brought forth two alternatives to the proposed ordinance. Those include a 10-percent increase on all fees and a so-called cost of service plan to bring up rates to cover costs.

The Council will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. The public is invited to attend. The meeting will be aired live on 640 am and streamed at kyuk.org.
