Bethel Fire Crews responded to a small fire on 6th avenue yesterday afternoon after someone noticed smoke coming out of a home’s porch. A fire engine, tanker, and ambulance responded, along with seven firefighters. They quickly put out a cooking fire with extinguishers. The fire had spread to a coat and to a couple objects in the house.

An infant and a toddler were medevaced to Anchorage for smoke inhalation. The fire department says they are expected to make a quick recovery.
