Bethel police officer cleared in killing of family’s loose dog

Officer Sammul Symmes followed police procedure when he dispatched of the Popiel family’s dog in March of this year with two shots to the head after he reports it became aggressive. That’s the conclusion of an internal investigation into the the shooting which found at least two other neighbors had problems with the dog and many reported that it was frequently loose.
