BRHS Varsity Basketball squads wrap up first of two nights against Mt. Edgecumbe

by Shore on February 7, 2014

The Lady Warriors of Bethel Regional High School opened up Friday night’s action against the Lady Braves of Mt. Edgecumbe. The Lady Warriors found themselves down by just two points at the end of the opening quarter, but that was the last time they would see a glimpse of a possible victory. The Lady Braves of Mt. Edgecumbe frustrated Bethel on both side of the ball for the remainder of the game, and the Lady Braves cruised to a 52-30 win over Bethel. The Lady Warriors next matchup is Saturday evening against Mt. Edgecumbe at 7:15pm. KYUK 640AM will have coverage of that game.

The boys then took the floor looking to avenge the Ladies’ loss, and they did just that, but not without making it interesting for over three quarters. At the end of the first quarter the Warriors held a 14-11 lead over the Braves, but by the end of the first half Bethel would find themselves down by one point. Bethel would convert an early three-pointer in the third-quarter, which was a sign of things to come for the Warriors as they went on to win 53-42. The boys’ next game is Saturday at 5:30pm. KYUK will have live coverage available of that game on 640AM and streaming on
