BSAR hosts 17th annual fiddle dance

Bethel Search and Rescue is holding it’s annual fundraiser fiddle dance this Friday and Saturday.

The event, which goes from 7pm-1am at Bethel Regional High School, features the Emmo and Northern Lights Bands, as well as door prizes and a raffle.

Interim BSAR Director Mike Riley said the two-day event provides the nonprofit group with the funds to mark trails and do searches for the entire year.

Riley encourages everyone from Bethel and the surrounding villages to come out, but says people should travel safely by using marked trails.

“Always be careful with this glare ice,” Riley said. “Glare ice all the way to the villages. There’s no traction out there for four-wheelers or snowmobiles.”
