Bethel Search and Rescue and Alaska State Trooper pilot Earl Samuelson of Napaskiak, conducted an aerial survey of the Lower Kuskokwim River Oct. 31. They flew from the Johnson River up to Tuluksak. Samuelson says the consensus is that everyone should stay put. There are many open leads and holes near communities along the river. He says not only are the main river trails unsafe but also the back trails.
