Buser and King on K300 home stretch

by Ben Matheson on January 19, 2014

Just four minutes separated 2012 Kuskwkwim 300 champion Rohn Buser from the man who’s won it nine times: Jeff King. The two left Tuluksak at 4:16 and 4:20 respectively after completing their final mandatory layover. Both mushers dropped a dog for the final sprint in.

Buser told KYUK in Tuluksak that he expects a fast run in.

“It seems like a pretty fast trail, it was a fast trail on the way. I’ll see if I can I can get going pretty fast..I kind of need to,” said Buser.

Stay tuned to KYUK for live coverage of the finish.
