Bethel police and EMTs responded to a two-vehicle accident Tuesday that sent two people to the hospital. The noon accident was on the Eddie Hoffman Highway, involving a Quyana cab Suburu and a GMC pickup truck.

Josh Hoffman is a firefighter/EMT with the Bethel Fire Department. He says the cab was in the ditch in front of the Allanivik hotel.

“The truck was up on the road. We had two patients, both were from the taxi. We transported the taxi driver and passenger to the hospital,” said Hoffman.

The driver of the pickup truck refused treatment. EMTs were on scene for about 25 minutes. The front of the end of the pickup was ripped apart and the cab appeared to show an impact on the passenger side door. Firefighters don’t know exactly what happened. Bethel police are looking into the cause of the accident.
