Guitarist Jeff Getty and harmonica virtuoso Mike Stevens graced the KYUK listening audience with a live performance Tuesday afternoon live from the KYUK studios in Bethel. The duo will be performing and putting on workshops around the Delta, including stops in Bethel, Akiak and Hooper Bay.

They will also be performing at the Yupiit Piciryarait Cultural Center in Bethel on Saturday (June 6th) as part of a dinner, silent auction and concert. Also on the playbill for Saturday is Bluegrass Basket, a bluegrass trio featuring Hubert Angaiak, Eileen Arnold and Kevin Morgan.

One caller shares her thoughts on banishment from villages, and whether they are a positive way to handle certain situations. Another caller shares his story of banishment, and how poorly the details of the banishment were handled.

The discussion includes what you need to know this summer and what the closures mean for the health of the river and its people. The first hour is dedicated to getting an understanding of the roles of federal, state, and tribal management plans.
