The Central Bering Sea Advisory Committee and the State of Alaska Department of Fish and Game wrapped up a 3-day meeting in Bethel Sunday.
One of the proposals being considered Saturday was proposal 5 concerning musk ox. Talk centered on the growing number of musk oxen in Alaska and regionally. Members discussed the possibility of a future subsistence hunt for the animals.

Committee members talked a lot about subsistence issues with the ADF&G Wildlife Conservation Area Managers. Comments for or against the issues need to be turned into the Board of Game for consideration by December 27th.

Among other things they had a debate on whether or not to change the boundary line of Unit 18 and Unit 19 Between Kalskag and Paimiut, the Central Kuskokwim Board of Game proposed by Robert Aloysius, Chairman of the Central Kuskokwim Advisory Committee.

Along with presenters from the State ADF&G and the Federal U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, committee members hear from Alaska State Trooper Sergeant Ken Acton, the Director of Natural Resources for ONC Greg Roczicka, Director of Natural Resources, for AVCP Tim Andrew and Fisheries Biologist Cassie Stockdale and a salmon report and forecast with Coastal Villages Regional Funds Nick Souza.
