Chefornak and Scammon Bay to play in state championship games

The Chefornak Lady Shamans advanced in the state tournament on Tuesday with a win over Shishmaref 66-36. The Scammon Bay Eagle boys also earned another victory in their semi-final game against Yakutat with a final score of 76-60. Both teams will now play in a game to determine the state champion.

Wednesday, March 14
– The Aniak girls lost to Alak 44-53 in 1a 4th place game.
– The Aniak boys took 4th place with win over Kiana 71-43 in 1A division.
– The Chefornak girls placed 2nd after losing to Newhalen 30-51 in the 1A Championship Game.
-The Hooper Bay boys lost to Bristol Bay 39-47 in a 2A 4th place game.
