The Bethel swimming pool fund got a boost this weekend from the 20th annual Y-K Delta Lifesavers Christmas Cookie Extravaganza. It took only 15 minutes for 113 pounds of cookies to sell at the event, which took place at the cultural center Sunday.

$1,137 was raised for the Lifesaver endowment fund housed under Bethel Community Service Foundation which brings the fund’s total to $220,619.

According to event organizers, the money will help fund beginning swim lessons when the Bethel Aquatic Center is completed.
