Despite sequestration YKHC earns over $10-million in grants

The Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation is announcing that it has secured almost $10-millions dollars in state and federal grants.

In a press release, YKHC’s Grant Development Director, Claudia Palacios says the corporation’s Behavioral Health Department is leading the grant submissions, receiving and managing millions of dollars in funded projects and on-going programs.

Palacios says that despite a reduction in funding due to the Federal Government’s sequestration, the Behavioral Health Department will receive $4-point-6 million dollars in grant revenue. It is unclear how that figure compares to past years as that information was not included in the press release.

YKHC’s Village Operations Department manages 8 grants, for a total of $4-point-2 million dollars.

Palacios says there is another $2-point-1 million dollars that is pending, but expects full funding for those projects as well.
