High winds swamp boats in Bethel

Winds gusted to 50 miles per hour Oct. 8 in Bethel in what the National Weather Service calls “the first fall storm of the season”. Swamped boats at the Bethel Boat Harbor had to be removed. Villages on the coast were also hit by high winds of the same magnitude.
