The Warriors of Hooper Bay came back from a 0-10 2nd quarter deficit to defeat the Metlakatla Chiefs for the Boys 2A State Basketball Championship 51 to 28.

It was all Metlakatla early in the game but the Warriors from Hooper Bay adjusted to the Cheif’s potent inside attack with a full court press, a swarming defense and quality shot opportunities to come back and take the lead into the halftime 18-14. From there, Hooper Bay never looked back outscoring Metlakatla 51-18 over the last three quarters of play.

Metlakatla had trouble getting their offense into gear in the last three quarters, ¬†and went just 10 for 42 from the field for the game. On the other side of the token; Hooper Bay was led by Kacy Green’s shinning 22-point performance.
