by Angela Denning-Barnes on September 6, 2012

The Lower Kuskokwim moose hunt is nearly halfway to its quota. As of noon, 49 harvest reports had been turned into game managers, nine more than Wednesday. Five of the 49 moose were taken on federal land.

The moose hunt in Unit 18 on the Lower Kuskokwim River opened Sept. 1. The quota is 100 antlered bulls.: 81 on state land and 19 on federal land.

Moose hunting is still open on both state and federal land on the Lower Kuskokwim in Unit 18.

An RM-615 permit is required for the hunt.
