Calista Corporation has announced a new Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Starting June 1st, Shareholder Monica James will begin work.
A press release says James served several years in Yulista Holding, LLC, Calista’s largest and most profitable holding company before being selected for the position. James is originally from Alakanuk and graduated from Bethel Regional High School.
James replaces Christine Klein who served for the last five years in the position.
The Calista Corporation has the second largest population of the original 13 Alaska Native Corporations established under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971 and represents more than 12,500 shareholders.
Calista Corporation is the parent company for more than 35 subsidiaries companies specializing in military defense contracting, construction and communications, among others.
