Klejka finishes 8th in Junior Iditarod

Bethel’s Joshua Klejka finished the Junior Iditarod this weekend in eighth place. He arrived at Martin Buser’s happy Trails Kennel at 11:38 Sunday morning with 9 dogs in harness. The finish mark’s Klejka’s second finish in the Junior Iditarod, which runs to Yentna station and back.

His sister Joan withdrew before the race start. Nome’s Jannelle Trowbridge took 6th place in her rookie run.

17-year-old Conway Seavey, the son of Iditarod Champion Mitch Seavey, won his second Junior Iditarod by less than two minutes. Ben Harper took 2nd place honors.
