The decision to close the Kuskokwim to salmon fishing for 7 days was a difficult one, said people attending a 3-hour Kuskokwim Salmon Management Working Group meeting Friday afternoon. Federal and State wildlife managers along with residents talked about this year’s projected low King return and the reasons why a 7 day rolling closure was needed.
