IMG_3024Bethel’s team 19 of Steven Boney and Gux Laraux took 12th place in the 2014 Iron Dog. Team 19 arrived in to Fairbanks at 3:21 on Saturday riding their 4-stroke Yamaha Nytro 1049s.

Their total course time was of 46:03:43 with an average of 44 miles per hour. It’s the best finish in Boney and Laraux’s three years of racing the Iron Dog.

While most teams use a new machine every year, team 19 was singled out at the banquet as being the first team in race history to finish two consecutive races riding the same snowmachine.

2009 Champions Todd Minnick and Nick Olstad were back on the podium and earned the 2014 win. They rode their Polaris 600-R machines to the victory.
