Salmon fishing didn’t close at midnight Wednesday in Section 2 of the Kuskokwim River. It had been scheduled to close in that area following a 3 day subsistence opener which allows fishing with 6 inch gear or smaller. Now, fishers in that section, which stretches from below the Johnson River up to Tuluksak, can fish for three more days until Saturday at midnight. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game announced the changes Wednesday.
