Alaska State Troopers report that 18-year-old Zachery Myers, of Pilot Station, was arrested on several offenses in St. Mary’s including hit and run, driving under the influence, minor consuming alcohol and resisting arrest.

Troopers say that at approximately 4 p.m. on February 17th, Myers collided with a pickup truck while driving a snowmachine. The wreck totaled the snowmachine. Troopers say Myers was intoxicated at the time and fled the scene.

Troopers searched the village and found that Myers was attempting to evade capture at a local residence.

Myers was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s Trooper Post where he refused to provide a breath sample. He will be held at the St. Mary’s Jail until he is transported to the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center in Bethel.

The total damages of the hit and run are estimated at over $3,000.
