Men Cited for Not Reporting Killing Moose They Say Charged

Screen Shot 2014-07-10 at 1.42.47 PMAlaska Wildlife Troopers have cited three Chefornak men for not telling troopers after they shot a moose that reportedly charged them.

They cited Patrick Matthew, age 25, Jack Wiseman, age 25 and Timothy Tirchick, age 35. Troopers say the men shot a bull moose in the Chefonak area near Dall Lake in defense of life and property but never told troopers. The meat was not surrendered to the state.

The three are charged with failing to report and unlawful possession or transportation. A court date is set for July 28th.
