A new round of drug charges came through late last week in Bethel for heroin, methadone, oxycodone, and hashish. Several individuals are facing felony drug charges for allegedly attempting to bring hashish into the jail.
21-year-old Matthew Hickman Jr. is facing charges for possessing heroin with the intent to distribute. That’s a class A felony. There are two associated class C felonies. A grand jury indictment came through late last week.
26-year-old Karla Berry was indicted on four counts including 3 class-A felonies related to possession and intent to manufacture or sell methadone and oxycodone. Those are both powerful prescriptions painkillers.
7 individuals were indicted at the end of the week and named in the same case. Several were arrested earlier this month for other drug offenses. Those seven include Laura Hickman, Richard Hickman, Christopher Hickman, Matthew Hickman, Simon Felix, Brandon Mayeda, and Delores Kilongak.
They each face 2 counts of 3rd degree controlled substance misconduct. The indictment says that between Christmas and January 17th, the seven in some combination manufactured or delivered, or possessed with intent to deliver hashish. The 3rd count alleges that the seven brought or attempted to bring hashish into a correctional facility.
