Newtok leaders visit South Pacific island in New Guinea

Stanley Tom, Tribal Administrator for the coastal village of Newtok just returned home after spending two weeks in the Carteret Islands in Papua, New Guinea. Tom traveled to the South Pacific Island near Australia to share information with Carteret Islanders about how to take charge of plans for relocating communities vulnerable to coastal erosion. Upon his return home to Newtok, KYUK’s Trim Nick spoke with Stanley Tom.
