A Pilot Station man was arrested in the village Aug. 15 after running into another man with his four-wheeler, breaking his leg. Alaska State Troopers in St. Mary’s were notified of the assault at about 8 a.m.

Investigation found that Malcolm Heckman, age 27, of Pilot Station had been driving a four-wheeler when he allegedly struck a 20-year-old male. It was just after two in the morning. The 20-year-old male suffered a broken leg and several abrasions.

Troopers have not released the victim’s name.

Heckman was arrested for Assault in the First Degree and remanded to the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center in Bethel.

Troopers say alcohol is believed to be a factor.
