An airplane crashed near Saint Mary’s tonight and Alaska State Troopers and other groups are at the scene. Trooper spokesperson, Megan Peters, says the plane was reported missing at 7 p.m. and as of 9:30 p.m. they were still assisting passengers at the site. The plane was en route from Bethel to Saint Mary’s. Troopers were told that there were 10 people on board the plane. They have not said which airline it was or if there were any injuries. Peters says the U.S. Coast Guard, the Rescue Coordination Center in Alaska, and Life Med are all involved in the recovery effort.
