Bethel PoliceBethel Police continue to investigate a knife fight that took place in Haroldson Subdivision, near the dump early Wednesday morning.

Police Chief Andre Achee:

“We’re trying to get as much information as we can since there were several individuals involved in it, so we just want to make sure we have all the facts correct before we pursue any charges,” said Achee.

Officers arrived to find about 20 people at the scene, which Achee described as a gathering in the neighborhood. Achee says several had knife injuries an others were hit by blunt objects. Investigators don’t know why the fight broke out.

“We’re still trying to determine why this fight occurred. During the course of it three people were transported to the hospital by ambulance for injuries from a knife. Other people that were hit transported themselves, refused transport by medics – were hit by an object or something like that. We’re currently investigating a couple of leads. We do have several people of interest involved in this, so we’re investigating some leads involving this felony assault,” said Achee.

Achee says Alcohol was involved. Bethel Police are asking people with information about the fight to contact them. Achee says the police hopes to release more information later this week.
