This Sunday is the annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count in Bethel.

The Audubon Society, along with the Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge, is calling on volunteers from the Y-K Delta to help with the December 17 count.

Last year a dozen volunteers counted over 700 birds, including ravens, redpolls, and pine grosbeaks.

The National Audubon Society runs the program to encourage bird conservation and to collect data showing how bird ranges have changed over time.

To participate contact Kristine Soul at (907) 543-3151.
