Bethel Varsity Warriors Place Fourth In The 2016 Lancer Smith Memorial Wrestling Tournament

The Bethel Varsity Warriors placed fourth in the 2016 Lancer Smith Memorial Wrestling Tournament in Palmer this weekend. More than 700 wrestlers competed across all divisions in the premier wrestling event.

Colony High School in Palmer placed first with 275 points, followed by Homer High School with 211 points. Wasilla High School took 166 points, and Bethel Regional High School earned 121.5 points.  

Also from the region, Eek High School placed 25th; Aniak placed 37th; and Kuskokwim Learning Academy placed 44th in the tournament out of 46 teams.

Warrior Varsity wrestlers who scored the most team points are Thomas Dyment with 33 points, Kelly O’Brien with 22 points, Max Black with 20 points, Aaron Olsen with 20 points, Dylan Evan with 18 points, and Lindsey Beans-Polk with 18 points.

The team heads to the Glenallen Invitational the first weekend of December.
