Update: The City of Bethel repaired the Ridgecrest Water Treatment Plant by 1 a.m. Friday.

Original story 11:30 p.m. Thursday: The Bethel water treatment plant on Ridgecrest Drive has gone down.

The area connected to the Bethel Heights main water line may not have access to water until the issue is fixed. The line services Housing, the Bethel schools, and Ptarmigan Street until about Owl Street.

The City of Bethel discovered the issue around 11 p.m. Thursday and dispatched workers to the site. The shutdown follows a power outage that occurred about an hour before the issue was discovered.

The City is asking residents in the area who have water to conserve until the problem is fixed.
