The Bethel Planning Commission has granted CezaryMaczynski a one-year extension on his Conditional Use Permit for his planned liquor store. Planning Commission Chair Kathy Hanson says that Maczynski wasn’t sure he’d have enough time to complete the construction needed in the allotted time and requested the extension.

The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board granted the third and final liquor license available in Bethel to Maczynski’s Kusko Liquor last November.

The City Code gives permit holders a year to complete at least half the construction work agreed to. Hanson says that the Commission found Maczynski's arguments for the extension sound and granted him the extra year to build an adequate parking lot that complies with permit requirements.
