He’s a familiar face now, but Bethel is having a “meet and greet” with Interim Police Chief Burke Waldron anyway. It’s scheduled for this Tuesday night at City Hall from 5:45 p.m until 6:30 p.m. City Council is considering taking the "Interim" out of Waldron’s title and permanently offering him the job of Police Chief. His hiring approval is on the council’s agenda Tuesday night.

Waldron has acted as Interim Police Chief since August 1, 2017. In a letter to council members, City Manager Peter Williams said, “I am confident Chief Burke Waldron will continue to be an outstanding asset to the community and the City of Bethel as the permanent Police Chief, and look forward to the Council’s confirmation.”
