JBER Soldier Dead; Alaska Flags Go Down

Flags are at half-staff in honor of a 22-year-old soldier based at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson who died fighting in Afghanistan on Monday.

Governor Walker ordered flags at half-staff starting today, May 2, to recognize the death of Specialist Gabriel David Conde, who was a member of the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division. Conde joined the Army in August 2015 in Loveland, Colorado, where his parents live.

The flags will remain at half-staff till sunset on Friday, May 4.
