Marshall Man Accused Of Assaulting Two Women

Leon Edwards, age 39, is accused of assaulting two women when they tried to leave his home.

A Marshall resident allegedly assaulted two women last week when they tried to leave his home.

On January 29, Leon Edwards, age 39, was drinking homebrew with two women in his father’s house. According to interviews with State Trooper Robert Casey, the women said that Edwards became enraged when they tried to leave.

The first woman, who reported the crime, said that Edwards threw her to the ground and strangled her. She fought back at first, then pretended to be unconscious. The second woman said that she couldn’t remember what happened, but her eye was blackened and her arm was bruised. The women called their friends and family for help during the alleged attack. When two people tried to help them escape, they said that Edwards attacked them too.

Edwards is charged with six counts of assault in varying degrees. If he’s found guilty, this would be his fifth assault conviction in the past 10 years. His bail is set at $5,000.
