A young woman in Quinhagak was arrested for allegedly smuggling alcohol into the village.

Alaska State Troopers say that 18-year-old Jasmine Andrew was bringing in five bottles of whiskey in her luggage. They contacted her on Wednesday, August 21 at a Bethel air carrier.

Troopers say that she also had several bench warrants from Anchorage.

Quinhagak is a local option community whose residents voted to ban the importation and sale of alcohol.
