Search and rescue teams look for Bethel Teens

by Mark Arehart on January 29, 2013

Bethel Search and Rescue reports two teenage boys are missing. BSAR said the brothers, 18-year-old Phillip Charlie and 16-year-old Sam Charlie, left Bethel Monday to go ptarmagin hunting along the Atmautluak trail.

The pair contacted their father to report that they were lost a few miles out from the trail.

A search team was unable to go out Monday night due to weather. The pair has not yet been found, but they have made contact via cell phone several times to try and estimate their location.

BSAR said they are close to finding the pair. SAR teams from Akiachak, Nunapichak, Napaskiak, Napakiak and Bethel are out searching.

You can call BSAR at 545-HELP with any information.
