UPDATE: November 6, 2:00 p.m. The men have arrived safely in Quinhagak

Search teams are looking three men from Quinhagak who left Napakiak going down river to Quinhagak and never arrived. The men are Walter Johnson, Robert Guest and Adolph Paul. Bethel Search and Rescue chief Mike Riley says the group left Monday at about 1:30 in the afternoon.

Bethel Search and rescue sent a boat towards Kialik river to look for the people at on fish camps and around the river. A team based in Quinhagak went to Eek but did not find anything.

Riley says low water hindered efforts to reach some areas. They did not spot any smoke to indicate a warming fire. A Trooper pilot is flying the river and back trails today.

Riley does not have a physical description of the men. He says they were in an 18 foot Lund with a 70 horsepower motor.

If anyone has any information, they are asked to Alaska state troopers at 543-2294 or Bethel Search and Rescue at 545-help.
