troopers, alaska state troopersThe Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team and Village Police officers arrested a man they say was attempting to bring 18 bottles of alcohol into Nunapitchuk. Last Thursday, VPO’s in Nunapitchuk met 23-year-old Mishael Angaiak at the airport after his flight from Bethel touched down.

They found 18 bottles of liquor in his bag. They arrested him for violating probation and planned to file charges for alcohol importation.

Everett Semone of Shageluk was arraigned on murder charges at the Bethel court this afternoon. He is accused of brutally killing his parents with a axe in the village of Shageluk earlier this week.

St. Mary’s Troopers responded to a fatal ATV crash in Marshall Wednesday. The woman killed is the survivor of a plan crash in 2013.

An investigation found that 26-year-old Melanie Coffee, of Marshall died after hitting a tree on the Old Airport Road just outside town.
