Bethel PoliceBethel police are investigating an ATV crash on the Kuskokwim river that killed one man, Kenneth Nicori, and injured another person.

In the evening of November 26th police got a call from the YKHC emergency room. They responded and found 20-year-old Kenneth Nicori Jr. of Kwethluk had been declared dead. He suffered injuries including head trauma in an accident. Bethel Police Chief Andre Achee said the way the case came to their attention was “kind of” suspicious.

Bethel Trail Inventory from Bethel Comprehensive Plan / Agnew: Beck.

The City of Bethel is bringing back the trails committee to work on the community’s system of trails for walkers, bikers, ATV drivers and snowmachiners.

A meeting Wednesday night will include discussion of how to separate trails for pedestrian and motorized transportation. They will look at plans for improving current trails and sort through a large set of recommendations in the Bethel Comprehensive plan.

A St. Marys man died Saturday in an ATV accident. Trooper spokesperson Megan Peters says 27-year-old Joe Bryan Joe was deceased at the scene. At about 5 a.m. Saturday morning, a village police office got word that an ATV had crashed about three miles outside town near the confluence of the confluence of the Andreafsky and Yukon Rivers.
