Talk Line: Listen here to the March 15th edition

by Rybo on March 15, 2013

This week’s edition of “Talk Line” had a wide range of topics, including; Calista meetings, Bethel’s reckless drivers, boating laws on the river, loose dogs, becoming active to prevent diabetes, poor food quality and cleanliness of Bethel’s restaurants, and the importance of wilderness-preparedness and search-and-rescue teams.

Co-Host Diane McEachern takes Senator Lisa Murkowski to task for language she inserted into the recently passed Violence Against Women Act. McEachern joined the chorus of tribal advocates criticizing Murkowkski for excluding Alaska Tribes from new laws that will strengthen other tribes that are trying to protect battered women. Murkowski is defending her actions on her Facebook page.
